Key takeaways
- Dyness and many Pylontech pairs use a PYL-style profile. Confirm it on the pairing sheet.
- Inverex LFP and Knox LIO use the brand or LIB profile those pages name.
- A 5.12 kWh wall is often 50–100 A continuous. The 4.15 kWh Knox is lower. Read the pack sheet.
- First charge goes to 100 percent, indoors, under 45 °C.
Match the pack you paid for
| Pack | Profile to ask for | Voltage class |
|---|---|---|
| Dyness DL5.0C | Dyness or PYL, as the sheet says | 51.2 V |
| Pylontech US / UF / UP5000 | PYL | 48 V class |
| Inverex INV-LV | Inverex / LIB | 51.2 V |
| Knox LIO 5.12 or 4.15 | Knox | 51.2 V |
| Tubular 12 V × 4 | Flooded profile, and a short UPS job | 48 V string |
CAN lost, a pack that will not charge, and a hot battery often start on this screen. Follow CAN lost and not charging before anyone types a custom voltage. The LFP manual holds the daily routine.
Let the BMS speak and leave USE alone
Closed loop means the pack tells the inverter its voltage, its current, and its temperature. USE means the inverter guesses, and the guess is how a lithium pack gets over-charged. That is why this desk refuses USE on a lithium quote. Photograph the profile at handover. If the photo shows USE, do not accept the folder. The long reading of that refusal already lives on the USE setting page. This screen page says the same decision in one place and then sends you there. It does not publish a USE voltage table, and it does not type a custom charge voltage for an emergency.
If the carton offers USE as a last resort, that instruction stays in the carton and stays off our quotes for LFP. A plant that is "running fine" on USE is still a plant with the BMS ignored. Ask for PYL, LIB, or the brand profile before you pay. The PYL page and the LIB page stay canonical. This URL does not rewrite them. The parent doctrine on the owner menu is where the other four jobs live. Battery type is the job that cooks a pack when it is wrong, which is why it has its own page.
Match the pack you paid for, not the neighbour's photo
Dyness DL5.0C asks for Dyness or PYL, as the pairing sheet says, and it is a 51.2 V class wall. Pylontech US, UF, and UP5000 ask for PYL and sit in the 48 V class, which is not a licence to mix them with a 51.2 V wall and hope the word PYL makes the voltages agree. Inverex INV-LV asks for the Inverex or LIB profile and is 51.2 V. Knox LIO at 5.12 kWh or at 4.15 kWh asks for the Knox profile and is 51.2 V. A tubular string of 12 V blocks is a flooded profile and a short UPS job, not a 2026 hybrid bank.
A 5.12 kWh wall is often 50 to 100 A continuous. The 4.15 kWh Knox is lower. Read the pack sheet in your hand and write that limit next to the rating in the folder. Do not copy a Nitrox photo onto a Knox screen. Do not series two brands because both labels say 51.2 V. A Knox 4.15 beside a Dyness 5.12 is a mismatch. Use identical packs. The profile name does not forgive a different capacity on the same loop. Confirm the pairing sheet before anyone saves the screen.
PYL and LIB are how this pack is allowed to speak
Dyness and many Pylontech pairs use a PYL-style profile. Confirm it on the pairing sheet rather than on a forum screenshot. Inverex LFP and Knox LIO use the brand or LIB profile those brand pages already name. A profile is not invented here to fill a gap. If the sheet in the carton and this website disagree, the carton wins. We do not add a model code, a firmware number, or a program number that the revision does not print. The first charge goes to 100 percent, indoors, under 45 °C, on the profile the sheet named, with the current at or under that sheet.
CAN lost, a pack that will not charge, and a hot battery often start on this screen. Follow CAN lost and not charging before anyone types a custom voltage. The LFP manual holds the daily routine. This page does not paste those essays. High temperature that you can feel on the case is a reason to stop and let the BMS limit the pack, not a reason to switch to USE so the inverter will "push through." Pushing through is how a guess becomes a damaged pack.
A 24 V line must still read 24 V while the BMS speaks
The 24 V boxes still use PYL or LIB when the pairing sheet says so, and their voltage line must read 24 V. The profile does not change the voltage class. A 51.2 V wall does not go on a 24 V inverter. Photograph the nameplate before the pack is ordered. Yukon, a small Nitrox, and the other low-voltage hybrids are a different lug from the 51.2 V wall this page is mostly about. If the drawing for a MEPCO file shows one voltage and the roof shows another, the file is unsafe and the screen is unsafe. Match them before you save a profile name.
Four tubulars are not a 2026 hybrid bank even if a shop sets a flooded profile and calls the string a hybrid. They are watered, and their warranty paper is not the sealed LFP paper. Leave that story on the tubular side of the quote. If the quote you paid for was lithium, the LCD must show the lithium profile. USE on that photo reopens the quote. The handover folder is where the photo lives. This page tells you what the photo is allowed to say.
A swollen pack is a leave-the-room event
A swollen pack, a burning smell, or a case you cannot touch is not a settings tip. Isolate if it is safe, leave the room, and call local emergency services. This page is not a fire procedure and it does not describe a suppression method. Do not open the pack, do not keep charging it to "see if the smell fades," and do not switch the battery type to USE while you wait. A hot battery that has not swollen still belongs with the not-charging reading and the LFP manual, after you are sure the room is safe to stand in.
This page does not publish a pinout for the communication lead. It does not describe a megger test on the pack. It does not tell you to bridge GRID and LOAD because the battery screen looks dead. Those shortcuts are refused because a cooked pack and a live dead street are the consequences, not because the menu is shy. Grey firmware that claims to wake a silent BMS is refused, and this site does not host the file. The carton cable and the profile name are the honest checks.
| Pack on the quote | Profile you may ask for | Voltage class the screen must match |
|---|---|---|
| Dyness DL5.0C | Dyness or PYL, as the sheet says | 51.2 V |
| Pylontech US, UF, or UP5000 | PYL | 48 V class |
| Inverex INV-LV | Inverex or LIB | 51.2 V |
| Knox LIO 5.12 or 4.15 | Knox | 51.2 V, and the 4.15 limit is lower |
| Tubular 12 V blocks, four of them | Flooded, and only as a short UPS | Not a 51.2 V hybrid bank |
Read the sheet again after the table. The table is a prompt for the conversation, not a replacement for the carton. Identical packs only. First charge indoors, to 100 percent, under 45 °C, at or under the sheet. Write the profile and the current limit into the handover sheet by hand. If the app and the LCD disagree, the LCD and the carton win, then the dongle gets fixed. A dead stick does not authorise USE.
The decision this screen page is for
Use the USE, PYL, and LIB explainers when you want the long version. Use CAN lost and the not-charging guide when the symptom is already on the LCD. Use the LFP manual for the daily routine. Come back here when a shop photo needs a yes or no before handover. The company phone can look at that photo. The website will not invent a voltage to make USE look safe.
The decision that belongs only on this battery-type page is that the pack must be allowed to speak through PYL, LIB, or the brand profile, and USE stays off every lithium quote this desk signs. A price page and a city page do not make that screen decision.

Questions
The shop photo shows USE and the plant runs. Is that fine?
It is running with the BMS ignored. Ask them to set the closed-loop profile before you accept handover.
Can I series two different brands?
Use identical packs. A Knox 4.15 beside a Dyness 5.12 is a mismatch, even if both say 51.2 V.
What profile should I ask for on a Dyness wall in Multan?
Ask for Dyness or PYL, whichever the pairing sheet in the carton actually names, and check that the voltage class is 51.2 V. Do not copy a Pylontech habit onto that wall without the sheet, and do not accept USE because the inverter offered it as a shortcut. Photograph the LCD at handover. If the word on the screen is not the sheet's word, the quote reopens. The PYL explainer is the long reading. This page only refuses to invent a profile the sheet does not print.
Why is a Pylontech called 48 V class if other walls say 51.2 V?
Because the packets are not the same object. Pylontech US, UF, and UP5000 are the 48 V class on a PYL profile. Dyness DL5.0C, Inverex INV-LV, and Knox LIO are 51.2 V class walls. The shared idea is closed loop, not a shared lug. Do not series them, and do not assume the word PYL equalises the voltage. A 51.2 V wall on a 24 V inverter is a separate refusal. Match the nameplate before the profile is saved, and let the carton beat this website.
The Knox pack is 4.15 kWh and the other wall is 5.12. Can they share one screen?
No. Use identical packs. A Knox 4.15 beside a Dyness 5.12 is a mismatch even when both labels say 51.2 V. The smaller Knox also has a lower continuous current than a 5.12 kWh wall, which is often 50 to 100 A. Read the sheet you are holding and do not reuse the other brand's photo. The profile for Knox is the Knox profile, not a borrowed PYL line from a different manual. Handover should show one family of packs and one limit written beside the rating.
Can I set USE for the first week and switch to PYL later?
No. The first week is when a guess does the most harm. First charge goes to 100 percent, indoors, under 45 °C, on the closed-loop profile, with current at or under the pack sheet. USE ignores the BMS from the first hour. We do not publish a USE voltage table for a temporary start, and we do not accept a handover photo that shows USE. If the shop says the plant is already running, ask them to set PYL, LIB, or the brand name before you take the keys.
The pack is hot and the shop says to keep the grid charge on. What now?
Stop. If the case smells, swells, or cannot be touched, isolate if it is safe, leave the room, and call local emergency services. That is not a menu change, and this page will not describe a way to cool or open the pack. If the room is safe and the symptom is only that the pack will not charge, read the not-charging guide and the CAN guide before anyone types a custom voltage. Switching to USE to force a charge is the refusal on this page, not a remedy.
Does closed loop change a 24 V hybrid into a 51.2 V hybrid?
No. PYL or LIB lets the BMS speak. It does not change the voltage class. A 24 V hybrid must still show a 24 V line and take a 24 V or 25.6 V pack. A 51.2 V wall on those lugs is the wrong object. Photograph the nameplate before you order. This page will not describe an adapter or a custom voltage that pretends the classes match. The owner menu states the same refusal for Yukon and the small Nitrox class. Believe the nameplate.
