A “solar geyser” on Daraz is often just an electric tank. A vacuum-tube heater is a different machine.

Electric 2 kW geysers eat 8 kWh in a four-hour winter morning — more than four fans all day. Put them on the non-backup DB, or replace them with collectors.

REAL SOLAR

Vacuum-tube / collector system

Roof tubes + insulated tank. Sun heats the water. Electric coil is backup for monsoon and Peshawar winter mornings. 100 L ~Rs 70–125k; 150 L ~Rs 110–170k; 200 L ~Rs 140–240k; 300 L ~Rs 185–300k including stand and plumbing (street 2026). Payback is one or two winters if you currently run electric.

NOT A COLLECTOR

“Solar-compatible” electric geyser

Metro / Super Asia tanks at Rs 20–62k. They can take a solar loop later. Until you add collectors they are a 2 kW grid load. Fine as a backup tank. Do not buy one and tell yourself the bill died.

Keep it off backup

A 2 kW element on a 6 kW hybrid backup port will trip the box and kill the fridge. Non-backup circuit, always.

Gas vs solar

Where winter gas pressure is theatre, collectors win. Where Sui is stable, gas is still cheaper to run than electric — solar still wins on the electric bill.

Roof fight

Tubes want south pitch and no shade from the PV array. We place collectors first on a tight 3-marla roof, then plates.
