Net-billing is rupees, not a 1:1 unit swap.
Net-billing means the DISCO buys your export at a wholesale-like rate (NAEPP, we use Rs 11) and sells you import at your slab (often Rs 37–55). Two columns, two prices.

Worked example — Hyderabad
Take a 10 kW-class hybrid in Hyderabad (HESCO, ~5.3 PSH). 16 × 645 W is 10.32 kW DC. Derated yield ≈ 10.32 × 5.3 × 0.78 ≈ 42.7 kWh on a clean day — then heat derate before paperwork. This page (Net-billing) is the piece of that plant people skip on WhatsApp. If your quote cannot survive this Hyderabad sentence, it will not survive May. Do I must file?
Only if you want to export legally. Hybrid can self-consume without export.
Is my old meter 1:1?
If the agreement was executed before 9 Feb 2026, usually yes until expiry. Confirm in writing.
≤25 kW NEPRA licence?
Separate generation licence was dropped for ≤25 kW in Aug 2026 talk — DISCO files it. Still not a shop sticker.
